On yet another day, from a similar vantage point, long after the sun had retreated below the horizon and the light was fading fast, I captured this image at Canal Rocks as the waves washed through the gap between the rocks.
A composition of 3 images and cropped to a square format, it was nearly put in the recycle bin due to not having enough colour or being a bit dark for a black and white rendition. But for some reason it appealed to me for its dark eery soulful moody feel or maybe it was just because I received numerous sand fly bites and I felt that I needed something to show for waiting until darkness…
I added some post process vignetting to help draw the viewer into the image and give the feeling of fading light.
Cheers
Garry
